#DIGC101 Folk off

To use folksonomy for web project I had to recreate my project on another platform. I was initially using Twitter for its user generated content but expanded to Tumblr, a platform I was already familiar with, for tagging.
My previous experience was fairly limited, but one of my room mates had learnt an important lesson when uploading a video to YouTube. As a joke the video was tagged with “spit fetish” and thanks to YouTube stats, it became clear that this tag generated a lot of traffic.
Accordingly, I began to add my own zany tags to my reviews in a bid to bring an audience to my project.
My personal reviews, complete with tags can be found at http://5wordreviews.tumblr.com/
Like Twitter, Tumblr is also a social networking site. Whilst it wasn’t used for this purpose, the convergence of the two ideas has been beneficial to building an audience for the project.
