The Cribs - Ignore the Ignorant.
Take a bow Johnny Marr, I always thought you were cooler than Morrissey. An amazing album, if I had to pick my number 1 for the year, this would be it.
Paul Dempsey - Everything is True.
Who knew sarcasm could sound so good? Loved the supporting tours too.
Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions.
A grower. It took about 10 lessons, but this album has proved an absolute highlight of the year. Postponing their January tour was a 2009 lowlight.
Steel Panther - Feel The Steel.
Best glam rock album in years, even if you hate glam rock.
The xx - xx.
Sonically it’s sparser than George Costanza’s scalp, but what remains is amazing. So good. So, so good.
Regina Spektor - Far
It’s the most complex pop record I’ve heard in ages. A virtuoso in hipster’s clothing.
Sonic Youth - The Eternal
Yeah boy! Growing old is proving as noisy as it is graceful.
Conor Oberst - Outer South
This is a really good album. Seriously, I’m 23, not 15, I like it for the songs, not for the crybaby street cred.
half of Eels - Hombre Lobo
My Timing Is Off, All The Beautiful Things, Ordinary Man and That look you give that guy are all some of the best songs I’ve ever heard. The latter even has what is probably the greatest filmclip ever. However, the rest of the album falls off in comparison. It’s hardly a fair review, but E set the bar extraordinarily high.

Ryan Adams - Disco Queen.
For the first time in a while there were no new records. Instead one of the digital only singles blew my mind…and yours too hopefully.
Bruce Springsteen - The Wrestler. Give the guy an Oscar. Please. Thanks.
